About aaruul
What is aaruul?
Aaruul is dried milk curd from Mongolia. Milk is soured, strained, pressed and slowly dried into a firm, tangy, long-keeping snack. How it’s made
What does it taste like?
Tangy and savoury with a touch of honey, somewhere between a hard cheese and a cultured yoghurt.
Why is it so firm?
Drying is what makes aaruul keep, and it’s meant to be eaten slowly. Nibble it, let it soften, or crumble it over yoghurt or a salad.
What’s in it?
Milk, honey and sea salt. Allergens: contains milk, so it isn’t suitable for anyone with a milk allergy. Not suitable for babies under 12 months, as it contains honey.
